In a recent Wall Street Journal article, Nat King Cole's daughter Natalie Cole recalls the English Tudor she grew up in, in the '50s: "My mom was a natural interior decorator and she turned the house into a symbol of elegance and beauty," she writes. "I loved seeing our house from a distance. It [...] had this proud, majestic look. But I rarely went through the front door. The back was more dramatic. On the side of the house was an iron gate that I buzzed and Charity, our housekeeper, would let me in. Then I walked through our arboretum and across the backyard, passing our pool."
