NYT archicritic Michael Kimmelman argues that the 9/11 Memorial "doesn't feel like New York." Kimmelman's issues with the space touch on everything from the concrete seating ("low, backless, as if comfort violated the sanctity of the place") to the surrounding strips of grass ("it's hard to imagine a more formal, less happy arrangement to dictate behavior"). This way for more on the museum that sits below it. [NYT via Curbed NY; previously]
