Photographer Christopher Payne has spent the last 15 years documenting the forsaken buildings and industrial sites in New York and New England, capturing 19th-century textile mills, asylums, and hospital ruins. "As things get torn down and converted and modernized, you start running out of things to shoot," he tells Curbed NY. "You just have to dig deeper, you have to get access. But once you get in, there is this whole other world." [Curbed NY]
