Luxury Barn in California's Wine Country Asks $5.2M

Have a nomination for a jaw-dropping listing that would make a mighty fine House of the Day? Get thee to the tipline and send us your suggestions. We'd love to see what you've got.

Location: Sonoma, Calif.
Price: $5,200,000
The Skinny: Built on the site of Sonoma's old Lawrence Hot Spring Spa, this modern take on the humble barn combines rusticism and contemporary style by re-purposing the spa ruins, including an original 100-year-old blue stone wall. It's also well positioned to be featured on an episode of the nonexistent but kinda necessary television show "Lifestyles of the Insufferable." According to the official site: after a day spent shopping for artisanal cheeses "pick-up your organic vegetables at the 'Patch' next door, stroll through the orchard on the property [...] play Pétanque, or enjoy the views [...] while enjoying the wine and cheese from the day, sitting under 200 year old Olive and Oaks trees." Because Pétanque is a thing again, apparently? On the plus side there's an Endless Pool, radiant heated floors, loads of "Hand-made old world stucco," and a wine cellar in a separate outbuilding. The four-bedroom, three-bathroom, 5,000-square-foot home is asking $5.2M.
