Although NYC-based designer Kathy Prounis once planned on tearing down this traditional Cape house in Bridgehampton, N.Y., she instead ended up renovating the windows, roof, and siding, and outfitting the interiors with what Hamptons Cottages & Gardens calls a "Brady Bunch–meets–Hollywood Regency vibe." "the place really grew on us," says the designer in June's issue. "It's classic and cute, and I chose to take it back to its 1950s and 1960s roots, while incorporating more modern elements." While the exterior opts for a classic black and white palette—though with a very funky red door and oversized nob—the colorful interiors are a surprising mix of sexy, mod pieces and retro elements. The living room, for example, pairs a fuchsia carpet with furry foot rests, vintage 1950s sofas, and a dramatic black velvet porter's chair. The vacation pad also offers a newly done, summer party-ready outdoor living rooms and dining areas. Take a look, below:
