Curbed Ski is busy indulging in ridiculous amounts of food and drink (check out our drool worthy list of most-anticipated events) at the FOOD & WINE Classic in Aspen, but we interrupted our gourmet fest to run this morning's 5K Charity Race. Aspen was at its prettiest for the early (7:00 am) start time, but any regrets for the early alarm quickly dispersed on the drop-dead gorgeous course. With trees, mountain views, creekside trails, and crisp mountain air, this was one of the prettiest 5K race courses our seasoned Curbed Ski athletes have ever run. The chef-filled event (sponsored by Pure Leaf Iced Tea) also raised money for Wholesome Wave, an organization that aims to improve the accessibility and affordability of fruits and vegetables. From the event description, "Through Pure Leaf's 'Share the Love of Leaves' program, every social engagement from fans on the brand's Facebook or Tumblr, and use of the #loveofleaves hashtag on Instagram and Twitter, Pure Leaf will donate $1 to will help provide 100,000 pounds of locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables for communities nationwide." Well done, Aspen!
