West Hyannisport Estate Returns to Market, Still Wants $17.5M

"Point of View," one of the Cape's lingering luxury listings, has returned to market yet again. This time, the West Hyannisport estate has declined to take a meeting with the PriceChopper, leaving it with one of the heftiest price tags on the Cape and Islands.

Here's how the brokerbabble sums up the community rec center the lavish digs:

As you step out onto the lush lawn of this ~10 acre private gated estate you will be awed by the rarity of the place. The breathtaking views of Squaw Island, Halls Creek and the rolling surf on Nantucket Sound offer privacy plus additional access to miles of white sand walking beach. The home itself is 10,000 sf designed by Architect Richard Bertman incorporating shingle style with some striking visual elements. Impressive living spaces and a large gourmet kitchen. Five en suite bedrooms in the main house. Three in the guest house and a separate caretaker's apartment with private entrance. Also featured are the six-car collectors garage, mini golf course, and dramatic indoor pool, surrounded by windows on three sides plus an exercise room and sauna. Once you arrive at this genuine retreat aptly named Point of View you will not want to leave.Yup, the spread is pretty much like an all-inclusive resort, but with the wristbands. Alas, a buyer has yet to be impressed.Bloomberg Businessweek featured 251 Green Dunes Drive as one of the most expensive summer homes of 2010 back when the place was asking $21,500,000 and we first wrote about the waterfront abode in 2012 when the priceupped ask had reached $22,500,000. The search of a buyer with big bucks then continued with a couple pricechops, broker switches and a break from the market here and there. As of this week, "Point of View" can still be had for $17,500,000.
