Here's an opportunity to bed-down in what may be the hippest rental in what may be the hippest European city. Plunked like a Bauhaus building set a-bob in Berlin's Lake Rummelsburg, this spare and glass-swathed houseboat is the brainchild of Chris and Oliver Laugsch, a pair of entrepreneurial and design-y brothers. The 645-square-foot dwelling, recently spotlighted by Remodelista, is unfinished-looking to the point of highbrow, with raw wood and basin sinks in the bathroom, exposed bulbs in the colorless bedroom, and an ultra modular sofa in the living room. Add a drop-down, wood-burning fireplace and this Hausboot enough to challenge The Netherlands' trendiest houseboat in a duel. The rental, which boasts some incredible river panoramas and sleeps two adults and two children, goes for about $340 a night, with a minimum stay of three nights. Photos, however, are free.
