Spend a Month in Billy Joel's Hamptons Home for $250K

New, 3 comments

The high lonesome ballad of piano man Billy Joel's Nate Berkus-decorated Sagaponack home—which, having gone unsold since he first listed it back in 2009, has officially been seeking a buyer For The Longest Time (sorry)—plays on, but this time with a rental offering, of all things. According to the Real Estalker, the 5,550-square-foot shingle-clad beach house is still on offer for $19.95M (a step down from the $23.5M it was put up for last November), but it can now be rented out for the entire month of August for the completely reasonable, not-at-all-eyebrow-raising price of $250K. It's still pictured with the makeover it got earlier this summer, which involved refinishing the wood floors and removing some "fussy stenciling," but unless Berkus was brought back in for round two, the four-bedroom now has a bit less of the celebrity interior designer and TV personality's magic. Doesn't look bad, but it doesn't look any closer to finding a new owner, either.
