Apparently, No One Wants This $2.5M 'Shackteau'

New, 1 comment

When this 1.89 acre West Tisbury property first hit the market back in December 2012, the brokerbabble called the waterfront spread a "camp." We wrote about the place in May 2013 when the price tag was still a whopping $3,200,000, a glamping-friendly ask if there ever was one. Here's what the latest listing has to say about the, umm, "shackteau":

Situated on the eastern shore of Tisbury Great Pond, Middle Point faces the Atlantic barrier beach with access just a short boat ride away. The waterviews are stunning. The simple "shackteau" as it is called with weathered shingles, beadboard walls and ceilings, and windows yielding views of sand, water, sky provides the carefree atmosphere of the enchanting island life on Martha's Vineyard. A most desirable location. The 686-square-foot one bedroom was built in 1920 and although there's no mention of a bathroom, owners must have found some way to deal since that time, right? Regardless, post-pricechop roughing it will cost a deep-pocketed buyer $2,495,000.
