Telluride Mansion Has Crazy Cool Hand-Carved Bar

It takes a lot for real estate to surprise the jaded Curbed Ski staff, but this 9 bedroom, 11 bath mansion in Telluride has managed to do just that. Asking $9,995,000, the 12,267 home comes with many of the over-the-top amenities we've come to expect from the Southwest Colorado ski town. It's set on six private acres, overlooks a stream, and boasts ski-in/ski-out access in Mountain Village. But the two custom, hand-carved bars are really what puts this property over the top. One, the "Titanic Oyster Bar," features three seats on the main floor and turn-of-the-century inspired lights. The second bar, which looks to be in the downstairs media room, is even larger with stained glass, intricate carvings, and beautiful dark wood reminiscent of pre-Prohibition bars. The same wooden detail is carried over into the wine cellar, which makes us covet this home for its drinking potential alone. We certainly could do without the outdoor hot tub, which looks pretty sad for a $10 million mansion. But whatever, we'll be inside drinking an Old Fashioned at the bar.
