A manse once owned by Quaker Oats founder James Douglas just hit the market in Chicago for $2.59M, while over in Staten Island, N.Y., an estate formerly inhabited by Gustave A. Mayer, the father of the Nabisco sugar wafer, is asking $1.74M. Though Douglas' home is in better shape, both listings prove that life (or at least real estate) is good atop a food empire.
