Built to make even the most conspicuously cool start-up HQs feel fuddy-duddy and corporate, this brand new "creative workspace-meets-cultural venue" in Lisbon repurposed 16 artfully stacked shipping containers to build a creative hub for designers and agencies, all tucked away in a courtyard behind the city's Carris Museum. Called the Village Underground Lisboa, the outpost worked in collaboration with fellow creative community Village Underground London, and hired local artists to decorate the exteriors until, like most shipping container projects, they barely resembled their industrial origins. Inside the complex maze, the offices are simple and bright—thanks to large cut-out picture windows—and connect to one another via foot bridges. Take a look, below, and keep an eye out for some very cool repurposed school bus parts.
