Midcentury Modern in the Arizona Desert is Awfully Cold

New, 6 comments

This rather beautiful midcentury modern house needs you to move in—not because it's facing foreclosure, but because all its concrete floors and stone walls could really, really use your furniture. In fact, flicking through the listing photos for this 1959 spread, on the rental market for $4,000 a month in Paradise Valley, Arizona, is kind of like ambling through Ikea's since-abandoned marketing campaign involving a "world without textiles." But perhaps that's a good thing; all the better to see notice its Jet-Age hanging fireplace, flagstone walls, and low-slung, hard-edged bones.
