The couple bought the 1,000-acre estate—described as an "enchanting oasis" surrounded by "ancient woods, olive trees, and vineyards" by the chateau's official website—in 2011, after leasing it for three years prior. The grounds come with both a French-gothic style chapel that accommodates small weddings and a recording studio that entertained the likes of Pink Floyd, Sting, Sade and the Cranberries before Brangelina took over. "It's very peaceful and the antithesis of the drive, the want, the need to get ahead indicative of life in Hollywood," says Pitt of his wedding chateau.
