Gutted Historic House in West Hollywood is Yours for $3M

New, 21 comments

Have a nomination for a jaw-dropping listing that would make a mighty fine House of the Day? Get thee to the tipline and send us your suggestions. We'd love to see what you've got.

Location: West Hollywood, Calif.
Price: $2,995,000
The Skinny: This West Hollywood spread was built in 1926, but you wouldn't know it by looking at it today. The Spanish Revival-style house has been stripped to its studs and retooled as what the listing calls "a chic boutique-like hotel experience." From the looks of the interior, that all translates to lots of white walls and furniture accented with varying shades of beige—with nary a Spanish-style arch nor stucco-daubed fireplace in sight. There's also no clay tile roof typical of homes of this era; presumably it was sheared off to make room for the upper level, with its master bedroom. A water feature, mosaic tile pool, and loggia fill out the busy backyard. Bonus: the $2.995M asking price can be negotiated to include all the furnishings and grasscloth wallpaper your heart desires.
