Idyllic, Julia Morgan-Designed Tahoe Estate Asks $11.5M

New, 3 comments

Designed in 1928 by prolific architect Julia Morgan—whose massive array of work includes some 700 buildings—is this sweet property in Lake Tahoe, Calif., which is currently on the market for $11.5M. Though certainly not as grand as some of the AIA Gold Medalist's more luxurious projects, the five-bedroom, 2,750-square-foot retreat is pretty decked-out, as far as listings built from logs go, with 180 yards of private beach, a private pier, and what the brokerbabble calls "a shaded terrace for those warm lazy afternoons." Inside, the place appears to have gotten some tastefully subtle renovations over the years, with its exposed beam cathedral ceilings and wood burning fireplaces still intact. Also on the property? A lovely little one-bedroom guest house with a living and dining area, a full kitchen, and its very own fireplace. Take a look:
