Rejoice, Martha's Vineyard's multi-million dollar "shackteau" has found a buyer! The 1.89 acre West Tisbury property debuted on the market in December 2012 as a "camp" and when we wrote about the place in May 2013, the price tag was a glamping-friendly $3,200,000. Alas, after a couple of visits from the PriceChopper, a shackteau was born. To refresh, the brokerbabble:
Situated on the eastern shore of Tisbury Great Pond, Middle Point faces the Atlantic barrier beach with access just a short boat ride away. The waterviews are stunning. The simple "shackteau" as it is called with weathered shingles, beadboard walls and ceilings, and windows yielding views of sand, water, sky provides the carefree atmosphere of the enchanting island life on Martha's Vineyard. A most desirable location. The 686-square-footer was built in 1920 and features one bedroom, a tower lookout and a detached office that serves as a guest bedroom. Oddly, there's no mention of a bathroom. Hmm. Anyway, the new deep-pocketed owners paid $2,280,000 for the rustic charmer at 208 Middle Point Road.
