Skispotter: Stein Eriksen at Deer Valley, Utah

Well done, Curbdiverse. In round 4 of our trivia game, Skispotter, you (mostly) correctly guessed the ski resort and champion Olympic ski aerialist from this old timey photo.

The resort in question is of course Deer Valley, Utah's most exclusive resort. Formerly known as Snow Park, which closed in 1969, Deer Valley was the vision of hotel developer Edgar Stern and Olympic champs Stein Eriksen and Friedl Pfeifer. It opened in 1981 and hosted key events of the 2002 Olympic Games. Today, at 87, Eriksen (the badass) still remains active in Deer Valley as host of his namesake lodge and director of skiing for the resort.
