Industrial designer Marc Newson is joining the immaculately-glass-enclosed hive that is Apple's design team. How exactly Newson's shapeless space cadette aesthetic will translate to the nigh-virginal minimalism Apple has thus far embodied is a mystery, but if the company continues with the wishes of its late founder Steve Jobs, none of Newson's Apple work will have a "seam, gap, or paintbrush stroke showing," leaving only room for a "supernatural smoothness."
