Pretty, pretty human Jared Leto, a wonderful head of hair that presumably did something in Hollywood at some point, just dropped $5M on a 50,000-square-foot compound—a former military compound. The sleuths at Curbed LA, naturally, took a deep dive into the history of the place, coming out with an easy-to-read timeline that outlines the "shadowy conspiracy" of the one-time "nuclear bomb film studio." The short version: the building was once Lookout Mountain Air Force station, which in the 1940s headquartered a team of 250 filmmakers "with top-secret clearance travel the world documenting nuclear bomb blasts from as close as two miles away."
