This diminutive duplex in Turin, Italy serves as a both a home and a workspace. Converted from a shop into a residence by the local firm R3Architetti, the tall, slender space has stairs leading up to a lofted bedroom and a small study, with the living room, kitchen, office, and bath down below. The architects' aim was to "hide the environments that are not compatible with the working space, such as the kitchen and the bedroom, through curtains that create space." There are only two windows, so the building's old bricks were painted a bright white color to enhance the effects of natural light.
