With all of that snow in Utah earlier this week and the Sundance Film Festival just days away, we're in a Park City state of mind. Curbed Ski has been all over the modern mountain design trend and another sleek chalet just hit the market in The Colony enclave of Utah's Canyons Resort for $12.9 million. This brand new build is situated on 6.8 ski-in/ski-out acres just steps away from the base of the Flat Iron lift – the heart of the connection between PCMR and Canyons for the soon-to-be nation's largest ski resort.
Renowned Salt Lake City-based designer Michael Upwall dreamt up the 13,700 square-foot main residence and 6,300 square-foot guest residence to create a one-of-a-kind architectural stunner. White oak wood floors make a statement and lead to eight bedrooms (with his and hers bunk rooms), a gourmet kitchen, an "indoor sportsmen's gallery" (whatever that is) and multiple living areas. Oh, and there's an elevator for easy access throughout the home – including straight down to the indoor racquetball/wallyball/basketball court. We love the unique exterior, but we have our fair share of questions regarding what's on the inside. What's with the decorative wheels/gears in most rooms? Who plays Wallyball? (Apparently Wallyball, also known as rebound volleyball, is just volleyball played in a racquetball court.) Why did they have to go with the lime green/lavender color scheme in one of the media rooms? Why are there two media rooms? Why is there a full wall of license plates in one of the bathrooms? Why are there 14 bathrooms? Luckily, it's still sparse enough for a fancy, snow-loving family to make it their own humble abode.
