Once seemingly the rare, ungainly bird of the U.S. real estate market, the American castle has become a genre standard. Oh, here's another one, listed for $600K, this time in Kansas City! And like the rest, even the ludicrous nightmare castles, it looks kind of like a regular house on the inside.
This one is called the Tiffany Castle, after its creator, Flavel B. Tiffany, the first optometrist in Kansas City, who "loved the castles of old Europe so much" he built one here. Like every other eccentric rich history buff with nothing better to do who isn't already building a knock-off Monticello.
