Danish starchitect and lover of 'promiscuous hybrids' Bjarke Ingels has unveiled a proposal for a pair of towers connected by a hammock-like canopy. Looking like a pair of cat's ears or perhaps an upside-down bridge, the complex is meant to serve as the headquarters for an as-yet-undisclosed media client in an as-yet-undisclosed location in the Middle East, with giant projections beamed out of the building's façade. "We have been inspired by the bazaars, the tiled ceramic roofs and the architectural use of textiles indigenous to the Arab world," says BIG of their bid for the perforated seven-million-square-foot tower project, which they call a "vertical village."
