Restoration Watch

Scottish architect Alan Dunlop thinks the idea of rebuilding the Glasgow School of Art's iconic Mackintosh Library, which was destroyed in a fire last year, would be an absolute folly. "There is actually no way you can replace it as it was," he tells the Scottish Herald, as "there was 100 years of age and patina" you would have to replicate. He says the GSA should build a new library, though the search for a restoration architect is already underway. [Scottish Herald via Arch Daily]
