Alaska's Turnagain Pass Gets Avalanche Sensing Tech

A popular backcountry skiing spot in Southcentral Alaska's Turnagain Pass is getting some high tech sensors that will give avalanche forecasters better information, hopefully saving lives. Tincan Ridge, at 2,400 feet, has been an avy-prone site, and the information gathered by the sensors will eventually be available to skiers plotting their trips on the Chugach National Forest Avalanche Information Center website.
