By this time in October, A-Basin and Loveland typically have snow guns blazing in a race to open — if lifts aren't already spinning by now. But this year, the weather is not playing along. If you've kept up with Al's Blog over at A-Basin's website, you've read about the nights that were nearly cold enough but stopped just short of dropping into snowmaking territory. So far, it looks like Copper Mountain is one of the state's only resorts to start making snow, but A-Basin isn't the only resort being stymied by Colorado's warm fall thus far.
