Maine's Sunday River was the second ski resort to open in North America on Monday, following Killington's Sunday start. The October stoke was in the air, with the Locke Mountain Triple lift opening at 9 a.m. to whisk skiers and riders up to T2 and Upper Sunday Punch. After Monday, however, Sunday River will be going back to its regular early season schedule of only running the lifts on weekends, and keep an eye on the weather, too, as temperatures could warm later this week.
