Behind a stalwart circa-1910 brick facade at this Dutch former school lie 10 rather nice apartments, renovated by Amsterdam firm CASA Architecten in collaboration with Dutch office Standard Studio. Carved from former instruction and administrative spaces in the city's old Ons Dorp school, the apartments range in size from about a roomy 1,000 square feet to spacious 1,500 square feet. Each comes with full-height windows and 15-foot-high ceilings under which the architects created mezzanine-level spaces for offices or lofted bedrooms, depending on the residents' needs. It all brings a whole new meaning to the phrase "back to school."
