Utah Resorts Are Not Happy About a New Planning District

Snowbird, Solitude and Brighton ski areas are up in arms about the Salt Lake City Council's plans to put them in a new Mountainous Planning District. The plan would put all the canyons from Little Cottonwood to Parleys in one district, including the Big and Little Cottonwood resorts. Alta already has its own town planning district, which will retain its power, but this new Mountainous Planning District would supersede any attempt by Snowbird, Solitude and Brighton to create town planning districts for themselves in the future. That's not going over well with resort officials.
