This Desk Accessory Is, Essentially, the Weather in a Box

New, 2 comments

Paper weights and potted plants are pretty cool, but you know what you really want on your desk? A glass box that mimics the weather outside, like some kind of Harry Potter-esque toy. The Tempescope, designed byTokyo-based software engineer Ken Kawamoto, is a "physical display that reproduces various weather conditions according to the weather forecast. It's like having a window that lets you look outside at tomorrow's sky" by syncing with your phone. It apparently needs a whopping $398,000 to become an actual product, but has already raised half of that through an Indiegogo campaign.
