Vietnamese architectural firm Vo Trong Nghia is a master of incorporating plants and trees into its buildings, but for this rooftop pavilion the architects wanted to use only plants—bamboo, tied together with rope—in order to demonstrate traditional Vietnamese building methods to a group of students in Tokyo, who assisted with the pavilion's construction.
