Well this is lovely. Local architect Giorgos Tsironis restored this 17th-century home, damaged in an earthquake in 1933, and the results are pretty stellar. According to Dezeen, Tsironis enlisted interior designer Greg Haji Joannides to create a mod interior for the home, and Joannides turned to historic photographs as reference points, choosing materials that helped recreate the stone home's Old World, Cycladic charms. Dubbed the Sterna Nisyros Residence, the house's original fireplace was uncovered and restored, among other details. The two-story house accommodates common areas on the ground level and bedrooms above. A broad stone terrace off the rear of the house offers killer views of the surrounding islands and sea. Take a look!
