Aspen's The Little Nell Offering Festive Locals' Weekend

New, 2 comments

The Little Nell, Aspen's only Forbes Five Star ski-in/ski-out hotel, is offering an early season guest experience December 11–13 with locals in mind. The three consecutive evenings of events to usher in the 2015/2016 ski season include a curry dinner, a vintage ski party, and a holiday tree lighting. Think of this special as a pre-holiday gift for yourself (not unlike Aspen's limited early opening this weekend).

The Little Nell, at the base of Aspen Mountain, is a beacon for celebrities and luxury tourists. This special is a great opportunity for locals (or wannabe locals) to take have the slopeside decadence all to themselves. On Friday, December 11, the Little Nell's Guest Chef Dinner Series launches with Chef Biju Thomas of Biju's Little Curry Shop, based in Denver, taking over element 47 for a special, one-night only 3-course dinner. The dinner will feature authentic Indian food made from recipes inspired by his childhood upbringing in Kerala, India offered for $47 prix fixe menu.

On Saturday, December 12, guests are invited to finish their day of skiing with the official Chair 9 opening party, at the base of Ajax Mountain. The party theme is "stylish vintage skiwear", show up in your finest classic duds from 2–8 p.m. The big payoff is a complimentary Chair 9 koozie, which gains you access to 3-dollar beers all season—they know the way to a local's heart. Other great prizes include VIP passes to the Apres-Ski Cocktail Classic in March, which is headquartered at The Nell. Chair 9 will also be offering Veuve Clicquot specials along with their new winter cocktails, libations, and bar menu, along with dancing and vintage ski movies.

The weekend wraps up on Sunday with the 3rd annual Tree Lighting Celebration in the courtyard at The Little Nell with carolers and Santa Claus. The lighting is open to all guests and community members. The Little Nell will be providing complimentary cookies and hot cocoa (available with a little nip at the cash bar).

Make it a weekend for only $299 per night including parking. This rate is offered from November 29-December 18. Happy holidays indeed.
