ASH Design, the Brooklyn-based design group behind a number of nationally-praised hotels, is moving full-steam ahead with plans to transform Detroit's Wurlitzer Building into a boutique hotel. Before they even completed the purchase this spring, the company spent $100K stabilizing the 1926 building's crumbling facade, famous citywide for dropping chunks of classic Renaissance revival architecture on the sidewalk. Today, the company's Instagram account shows they've gone all in on Detroit.
