The former home of Gore Vidal—historian, author, and sworn enemy of conservative William F. Buckley—is up for sale, reports Variety. Vidal died in 2012, leaving behind this elegant five-bedroom, four-bathroom Mediterranean villa in Outpost Estates, near the Hollywood Bowl. One thing is for sure: the man had taste. The home features terra-cotta floor tiles, hand-carved fireplaces, and a library fit for, well, Gore Vidal. French doors open out to a 20,762-square-foot lot that boasts a terrace, gardens and swimming pool.
