Vail Mountain Will Open With Over 1,000 Skiable Acres

It's official: the snow in Vail, Colorado has been so good that the ski area is kicking things off with the most opening-day terrain in a decade. Vail Mountain will open on Friday, November 20 with nine lifts, 1,150 skiable acres, and plenty of powder. The ski area has seen more than a foot of new snow this past week and more snow is on its way. With continued snow in the forecast, Vail believes it will be able to open even more terrain before Thanksgiving. Major bonus: skiers will get to experience Vail's brand new, six-passenger Avanti Express lift tomorrow, and all of the lifts open at 9:00 am. Head over here for more info.
