A London group has started a campaign to "raise awareness" about discarded chewing gum by circle every piece of sidewalk gum on select street with neon spray paint. (One could make the argument that if people weren't previous aware of the gum then it wasn't really a problem, if one wanted to be a bit of a jerk about it.) Apparently, though, the campaign is working, as targeted areas saw a major reduction in gum littering. Possibly because people were afraid that if they threw their gum on the ground there was a horde of people waiting to jump out with cans of spray paint.
