Artist Francisco Reynders created this unique dome house in the 1970s after being inspired by some old metal covers from some World War II gun turrets that he happened to see at a junkyard. Now, the home is on the market for $849,000 and locals are worried that the land it sits on is too valuable for the house to survive. "The livability of the house has really been trumped by the value of the land," said a realtor who was a friend of Reynders, and who sold the house in 2000, after the artist's death. "In the '70s it was out in the middle of nowhere, now there's nothing like it available."
