Orleans Carriage House Turned Two-Family Seeks $385K

New, 1 comment

This South Orleans property is definitely not short on options. The former carriage house for the historic Winslow estate has been converted into a two-family, but the place is, for better or worse, still a work in progress. According to the listing, the first floor "needs final decision on whether or not to divide the large room into 2 and whether to keep a garage or not and can be included, deducted or added to price depending on choices!" In addition, the two units could be combined, or the buyer might "live in one apartment and rent the other; rent both for super summer income; rent year-round in a community desperate for rental homes." Regardless, the 1,400-square-foot space with a "sneak peek over Pleasant Bay to Chatham Inlet and the ocean beyond" comes with deeded access to Deep Pond and a private, sandy beach on Pleasant Bay. The two-bedroom first hit the market in August for $399,900 and, by October, had been sliced to $389,900. Last week, a second little chop brought the ask down to $385,000.
