This dual chair was created by Dutch designer Annebet Philips, who modeled the concept after a person sitting in another person's lap. "Like lovers, the Love Seat exists out of two parts that fit together by colour and shape, and cannot function without each other," she she explained. Presumably, lap-sitting is also the intended usage of the chair, because why else would you need two chair backs?
