These Island Neighbors Created Their Own Internet Service

New, 2 comments

Here's a story that will definitely make you feel bad about whatever home improvement projects you've started and abandoned: a group of neighbors on Orcas Island, the largest of the San Juan Islands in Washington state, faced with spotty internet access, decided to just be their own internet provider. Creating the network involved scouting out potential sites for radios with drones, and then climbing trees to install them.

But you're right—installing those shelves would have been really hard.
