Curbed has some big things on the horizon for 2016: more home tours, more exclusive photos, an entirely revamped site (more on that soon!), and last but not least, a new city to call home. Joining the Curbed network in January is Curbed Austin, and we're looking for a talented writer-editor to help make it happen. Intrigued? Read on.
Curbed is looking to hire a local Austin resident to run a daily website. Ideally you're a self-professed real estate obsessive with a good sense of humor and solid writing and reporting chops. This is a part-time gig with commensurate pay; you'll be able to work from anywhere you want—including Vox Media's Austin office—as long as you keep your ear close to the ground for great homes, real estate happenings, development news, standout architecture, parks intel, and a strong sense of relevant neighborhoods. Experience in the design and shelter arena is a plus, as are digital publishing skills. Beyond reporting, the job involves daily blogging, an appetite for news, and strong communication skills. Interest in social media (i.e., you use Twitter and Facebook and enjoy it) is a must.
