Tour a Gorgeous California Modern Built for Art Collectors

New, 3 comments

This absolute knockout of a house was designed for art collectors on a near 4-acre parcel in Silicon Valley-area town Portola Valley, California, by Swatt Miers Architects. The clients wanted a house that was a work of art unto itself, and it seems they got their wish: the timber-clad, L-shaped house steps up on a steep site and is organized around a 75-foot-long pool on the grounds. Soaring, open-plan interiors provide plenty of opportunities to display the clients' extensive art collection—on walls, in niches, on stairwell landings. It's all rather nice.
