One thing's for certain with Curbed Cup 2015: it ain't over 'til the polls close.
Several of the first round match-ups ducked it out until the end. In a major upset of the competition (16) Whitefish, Montana beat out the number one seed of Park City, Utah. It was a tight race and Whitefish pulled off the win by only 7 votes. Other upsets included the landslide win of (12) Crested Butte over (5) Stowe and (9) Truckee's win over the popular (8) Steamboat Springs.
Other contests were a bit more expected. The fourth seed Jackson Hole beat Killington, Sun Valley absolutely pummeled Vail with more than 600 votes in favor of the Idaho ski town, Telluride dominated Mammoth Lakes, and Aspen moves on as the top seed after beating Schweitzer.
The most surprising contest? How close (14) Taos came to beating the ski town powderhouse of (3) Whistler.
The next round of voting kicks off on Monday. In the meantime, drop a line about who you think deserves to be crowned Ski Town of the Year. Stay tuned—this is going to be a good one, folks.
