The lifts started spinning at Revelstoke Mountain Resort on Saturday, November 28, and over 3,000 people came out for the ski area's opening. That's a new record for the British Columbia resort, spurred at least in part by the 100 plus inches of snow the ski area has already seen this winter. Skiers and snowboarders started lining up for opening day on Friday morning, and by the time the gondola opened at 8:30 am on Saturday, the line wound through the maze, parking lot, and beyond. Some diehard snow lovers even made pancakes and bacon while the waited. And while we would have loved to enjoy that breakfast before making a few Revelstoke runs, we can't say we missed the crowds.
