Ski Area Closures

Rainy Washington state has beens starved for snow this year, and the latest casualty is Summit at Snowqualmie. As of yesterday, all lifts at Alpental- the multi-slope resort's highest hill and the only one that remained open last week- are closed. This is bad news for the low-elevation ski area at around 3,000 feet, as President's Day weekend is always important for revenue. [The Seattle Times]
