First Sneak Peek Inside Downtown L.A.'s The Broad Art Museum

The Broad, developer/art-lover Eli Broad's vanity museum on Bunker Hill, has been delayed and delayed, but is now finally set to open on September 20 this year, in a honeycombed building by Diller Scofidio + Renfro that, so far, from the outside, has been a bit of a disappointment. Before the dividers go up inside its vast, columnless top-floor gallery (35,000 square feet), the museum let visitors get a look at some of its interior spaces this weekend (at $10 a head; admission will be free when the museum actually opens), with a sound installation by BJ Nilsen and, later, a light piece by local Yann Novak.
