"Hi, my name Is Yener and I'm a symmetry addict," the architect Yener Torun recently confessed to his 33.2K followers on Instagram. Since beginning his architectural photography project last year, the Istanbul-based architect has attracted a fan base thanks to his colorful, geometric snaps of modern buildings in the Turkish capital. Dubbed "Istanbul's King of Instagram" by Citylab, Torun never shoots the city's most famous buildings, like the Hagia Sofia or the Blue Mosque. Instead, he focuses on shopping centers, public schools, office buildings, and apartment towers.
His favorite building is the well-windowed Akel Business Center in the Kavacık neighborhood (above), which he has already photographed four times, although he is also quite partial to boldly colored staircases and irregularly placed terraces.
